The Paradox of time...
Author Unknown
The paradox of time in history
is that we:
Have taller buildings, but shorter
tempers
Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints
We spend more, but have less
We buy more, but enjoy it less
We have bigger houses and smaller
families
Bigger churches and smaller congregations
A multitude of prayers, but very little faith
A blessed life, but lack of gratitude
A loving God for our blemished hearts
We have more conveniences, but
less time
We have more degrees, but less
sense
More knowledge, but less judgment
More experts, but more problems
More medicine, but less wellness
We have multiplied our possessions,
But
reduced our values
We talk too much, love too seldom,
And hate too often
We've learned how to make a living,
But not a life
We've added years to life, not life to years
We've been all the way to the moon
and back
But we have trouble crossing the street to meet
A new neighbor
We've conquered outer space, but not
inner space
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul
We've split the atom, but not our prejudice
We have higher incomes, but lower morals
We've become long on quantity, but short on
quality
These are the times of tall men, and short
character
Steep profits, and shallow relationships
More leisure, but less fun
More kinds of food, but less nutrition
These are the days of two incomes, but more
divorce
Of fancier houses, but broken homes
It is a time when there is much
in the show
window
And nothing in the stock room
A time when technology can bring this letter
to you
And a time when you can choose
to make a
difference
Or just hit delete...

Spiritual Anarchy and Freedom

Spiritual Anarchy by Darla Kay
http://www.uark.edu/~dksander/anarchy.html
anarchy: a system where people of all kinds, with many
differing beliefs (as people have) can live together (or not together)
creating their own little habitats or cohabiting with others or living
alone as hermits unmolested by people who think they should be living
a different way.
A system where people don't constantly try to foist their beliefs on others,
where differing beliefs are respected as long as they don't interfere
with someone else's, where people are not ostracized or blacklisted or
persecuted or boycotted because they don't want to live in the kind of
society that others thinks they should live in.
A place where people can do their own thing and not be looked down upon
by others who think things should be done their way, where people can
be leaders or followers or NEITHER depending upon their own decisions.
A system wherein people are not labeled as socialists or capitalists or
commies or trots or libertarians or whatnot, where they are just people
being themselves.
I use the term Spiritual Anarchy because
these are more than political beliefs to me; they are also my religious
and moral beliefs. Some of them I still struggle with, but basically my
belief is in the individuality of people.
Everyone wants to be the same, look the same, have the same beliefs and
ethics, wear the same clothes, eat the same food, believe all the same
propaganda that tells them that it is good to be the same, that being
different is wrong or bad, churches that tell their congregations to believe
in the same god, the same biblical interpretations.
I say find your own god, wear whatever you want, and figure out what YOU
believe, not what someone else believes.
Why do We The People need a bunch of rich, old men with their own agendas
to tell us how to spend our money, what is right, what is wrong, when
(and with whom) to sleep, what to eat and drink.
Don't most people know inherently what is right and wrong, good from bad?
People will say, "If there were no government, no laws, everyone
would be stealing and murdering." Ask yourself, if there were no
more laws tomorrow, would you become a murderer and thief? No? Well, no
one else would either.
People who murder and steal do these things regardless of laws. Let's
get rid of the reasons that people do these things instead. People are
intelligent enough to make their own decisions. [Spiritual Anarchy is
the unspoken way of the seeker.]

Mankind did not have to create what they did.
And...
No man or woman has to accept what they created.
Collectively mankind created the world view we have today.
Each person can accept or reject this illusion... which is a setup from
beginning to end. Just say no... and go your own way. Be a spiritual anarchist.
The setup is "slick" but if you quietly turn your back on it...
it has no power over you.
The land, air, water and sunshine... and all things therein and thereof,
were all meant to be free... and are free. No person, group, tribe, government,
nation, company, or corporation owns anything. The system-setup says they
do... but they don't. So, just say no to their game and go your own way.
Take from their system the few things you need to live and be comfortable
and ignore everything else.

Spiritual Anarchy
"The earth, like the sun, like the
air,
belong to everyone..and to no one."
From: One Life at a Time Please by
Edward Abbey
The Theory of Anarchy
We are a nation of helots [serfs] ruled by an oligarchy
[a government
of the few for corrupt purposes] of techno-military-industrial administrators.
Never before in history have slaves been so well fed, thoroughly medicated,
lavishly entertained—but we are slaves nonetheless.
Our debased popular culture—television, rock music, home video,
processed food, mechanical recreation, wallboard architecture—is
the culture of slaves.
Furthermore the whole grandiose structure is self-destructive: by enshrining
the profit motive (power) as our guiding ideal, we encourage the intensive
and accelerating consumption of land, air, water—the natural world—on
which the structure depends for its continued existence.
A house built on greed will not long endure. Whether it's
called capitalism or socialism makes little difference; both of these
oligarchic, militaristic, expansionist, acquisitive, industrializing,
and technocratic systems are driven by the same motives; both are self-destroying.
Even without the accident of a nuclear war, I predict that the military-industrial
state will disappear from the surface of the earth within a century.
That belief is the basis of my inherent optimism, the
source of my
hope for the coming restoration of a higher civilization: scattered human
populations modest in number that live by fishing, hunting, food gathering,
small-scale farming and ranching, that gather once a year in the ruins
of abandoned cities for great festivals of moral, spiritual, artistic,
and intellectual renewal, a people for whom the wilderness
is not a playground but their natural native home.
New dynasties will arise, new tyrants will appear—no doubt. But
we must and we can resist such recurrent aberrations by keeping true to
the earth and remaining loyal to our basic animal nature. Humans were
free before the word freedom became necessary. Slavery is a cultural invention.
Liberty is life.
[Liberty for the seeker means spiritual anarchy. Going
your own way and allowing others to do the same.]

An Introduction to Anarchism,
by Liz A. Highleyman
http://www.black-rose.com/articles-liz/intro-@.html
This essay was written in 1988 by Liz for the Black Rose
Collective in Boston, MA, and revised in 1995.
What Is Anarchism?
Anarchism is a political philosophy that is shrouded in misconception.
This is largely due to the fact that anarchism is a truly diverse way
of thinking, one which cannot be characterized by simple slogans or party
lines.
In fact, if you ask 10 anarchists for their description
of anarchism, you are likely to get 10 different answers.
Anarchism is more than just a political philosophy; it
is a way of life that encompasses political, pragmatic and personal aspects.
The basic tenet of anarchism is that hierarchical authority -- be it state,
church, patriarchy or economic elite -- is not only unnecessary,
but is inherently detrimental to the maximization of human potential.
Anarchists generally believe that human beings are capable
of managing their own affairs on the basis of creativity, cooperation,
and mutual respect.
It is believed that power is inherently corrupting, and
that authorities are inevitably more concerned with self-perpetuation
and increasing their own power than they are with doing what is best for
their constituents.
Anarchists generally maintain that ethics are a personal
matter, and should be based upon concern for others and the well being
of society, rather than upon laws imposed by a legal or religious authority
(including revered laws such as the U.S. Constitution).
Most anarchist philosophies hold that individuals are
responsible for their own behavior. Paternalistic authorities foster a
dehumanized mind set in which people expect elites to make decisions for
them and meet their needs, rather than thinking and acting for themselves.
When an authority arrogates to itself the right to overrule the most fundamental
personal moral decisions, such as what is worth killing or dying for (as
in military conscription or abortion), human freedom is immeasurably diminished.
Anarchists acknowledge the connection between various
forms of oppression -- including sexism, racism, heterosexism, classism,
and national chauvinism -- and recognize the futility of focusing opposition
on one form of injustice while others continue to exist.
Anarchists believe
that the means one uses to transform the world must be in accord with
the ends that one hopes to achieve.
While anarchists disagree about strategies and tactics,
including the need for formal organizations and the use of violent action
to overthrow existing violent institutions, most agree that the focus
must not be on merely destroying the current order, but on fashioning
new, more humane and more rational alternatives to take its place.
Spiritual Anarchy=Love.

The Rainbow Family... Living Free...Welcome
Home!
What is the Rainbow Family ?
Some say we're the largest non-organization
of non-members in the world. We have no leaders, and no organization.
To be honest, the Rainbow Family means different things to different people.
I think it's safe to say we're into intentional community building, non-violence,
and alternative lifestyles. We also believe that Peace and Love are a
great thing, and there isn't enough of that in this world. Many of our
traditions are based on Native American traditions, and we have a strong
orientation to take care of the the Earth. We gather in the National Forests
yearly to pray for peace on this planet. For another viewpoint, Try Carla’s
much better explanation below:
What is the Rainbow Family of Living Light?
First of all, be prepared for a different answer from each
person who responds. Rainbow is different things to different people.
Most of us, though not all, who consider ourselves part of the Rainbow
Family, have attended the Rainbow Gathering of the Tribes, which takes
place from July 1 - 7 every year. The first gathering was in 1972, the
invitation to it reading as follows:
We, who are brothers & sisters, children of God, families of life
on earth, friends of nature & of all people, children of humankind
calling ourselves Rainbow Family Tribe, humbly invite:
All races, peoples, tribes, communes, men, women, children, individuals
-- out of love.
All nations & national leaders -- out of respect
All religions & religious leaders -- out of faith
All politicians -- out of charity
to join with us in gathering together for the purpose of expressing our
sincere desire that there shall be peace on earth, harmony among all people.
This gathering to take place beginning July 1, 1972, near
Aspen, Colorado - or between Aspen & the Hopi & Navaho lands -
on 3000 acres of land that we hope to purchase or acquire for this gathering
-- & to hold open worship, prayer, chanting or whatever is the want
or desire of the people, for three days, but upon the fourth day of July
at noon to ask that there be a meditative, contemplative silence wherein
we, the invited people of the world may consider & give honor&
respect to anyone or anything that has aided in the positive evolution
of humankind & nature upon this, our most beloved & beautiful
world -- asking blessing upon we people of this world & hope that
we people can effectively proceed to evolve, expand, & live in harmony
& peace. - Amen -
The 3000 acres never materialized, and the first gathering took place
partly on private land offered for temporary use, and partly on National
Forest land. As you can see, this was intended to be a onetime event.
However, people liked it so much that gatherings continued to happen annually
on federal lands, each year in a different state. The length of the gathering
has since expanded beyond the original four-day span.
For many years, there was only the one gathering, and
the spiritual focus was foremost in the minds of everyone who attended.
Most folks were identified with the "hippie" movement of the
times, engaged in establishing alternative social, economic, spiritual,
political, and/or environmental consciousness. Many were involved either
in the Peace movement in the cities or the communal, back-to-the-land
movement in the country. In either case, exploration of alternative spiritual
systems and states of consciousness was often a common theme.
Sometime around the mid-1980s, folks who felt it was too
far or too long to the annual gathering started coming together for smaller,
regional gatherings. People all over the country developed local and regional
bonds.
In the past few years, the spiritual focus has been less obvious, due
to the huge influx of people who may not realize the central purpose of
the gatherings. These folks may come to party, to hang out, to find like-minded
people, to gain support for their political causes, or whatever. Who knows?
(I sure don't, since I haven't spoken with all of them.)
The interesting thing is that we all consider ourselves
to be part of a huge, extended family, no matter what our reason for gathering,
no matter what our spiritual or religious or political or economic or
social views may be. And many people who have not yet had an opportunity
to attend a gathering also feel they are part of this family.
Another interesting thing is that there is no formal organizational
structure. There are no membership qualifications, no fees or dues, no
leaders, and virtually no rules other than the one of "peaceful respect."
Each year, individuals take personal responsibility and work together
with others on whatever they are inspired to do, from office work, to
scouting, to building the kitchens at the gatherings, to hauling in food
and first-aid supplies, to peacekeeping, etc. Every project undertaken
operates essentially on a consensus basis. Participation, communication,
and cooperation are how things get done.
It is nothing short of miraculous.
The gatherings are free and non-commercial, and everyone is welcome. Each
person is asked to bring their own camping equipment (this all takes place
in remote areas of the National Forest), their own cup, bowl, and spoon,
and whatever they might want to share to help the gathering happen (tarps,
shovels, musical instruments, bulk food, etc.). No one will be turned
away because of lacks in these areas, however. The Magic Hat is passed
at mealtimes and around camp. Donations are used to buy food in bulk for
the kitchens and whatever else may be necessary for the communal well-being
(plywood covers and lime for the latrines, first aid supplies, etc.).
Besides the work that goes on to help the gathering happen, there's also
lots of acoustical music, drumming, dancing, workshops, herb-walks, council
circles, sister circles, brother circles, brother-sister circles, people
hanging out, people bartering, people enjoying nature, people meditating,
chanting, and praying, people talking politics, people talking spiritual
and personal growth, people visioning the future, people doing bodywork
and other healing work... The list could go on forever.
For me personally, the Rainbow Family is where I have found my greatest
opportunities to learn, to grow, to celebrate, to be one with my fellow
beings and my mother Earth, to serve, to pray, to play. The gatherings
for me are living theater, evolution in process, creativity manifest.
I am passionately in love.
Picture twenty thousand people in a sunlit meadow, standing silent in
prayer, holding hands in one huge, unbroken circle. Picture a parade of
children approaching, singing songs, their countenances bright with enthusiasm
and face paint, balloons and banners waving in the breeze. Picture the
breaking of the silence with a cheer from the circle, then the silence
returning once again, to grow slowly into a thrum of voices united in
a single OM reverberating through the valley and on to the hills beyond.
Hold the OM in your mind. Let it spread through and around and in you.
Feel it pass from hand to hand and heart to heart.
The magic, the connection you feel is the essence of the Rainbow Family
of Living Light.
Peace, love, and light,
Carla

GRATEFUL SLAVE by Paine's Torch
http://cavern.uark.edu/~dksander/slave.html
All Rights Reserved, Copyright 1993 ZENO Press
I am a grateful slave.
My master is a good man.
He gives me food, shelter, work and other things.
All he requires in return is that I obey him.
I am told he has the power to control my life.
I look up to him,
and wish that I were so powerful.
My master must understand the world better than I,
because he was chosen by many others
for his respected position.
I sometimes complain,
but fear I cannot live without his help.
He is a good man.
My master protects my money from theft,
before and after he takes half of it.
Before taking his half,
he says only he can protect my money.
After taking it, he says it is still mine.
When he spends my money,
he says I own the things he has bought.
I don't understand this, but I believe him.
He is a good man.
I need my master for protection,
because others would hurt me.
Or, they would take my money
and use it for themselves.
My master is better than them:
When my master takes my money, I still own it.
The things he buys are mine.
I cannot sell them,
or decide how they are used,
but they are mine.
My master tells me so,
and I believe him.
He is a good man.
My master provides free education for my children.
He teaches them to respect and obey him
and all future masters they will have.
He says they are being taught well;
learning things they will need to know in the future.
I believe him.
He is a good man.
My master cares about other masters,
who don't have good slaves.
He makes me contribute to their support.
I don't understand why slaves must work
for more than one master,
but my master says it is necessary.
I believe him.
He is a good man.
Other slaves ask my master for some of my money.
Since he is good to them as he is to me, he agrees.
This means he must take more of my money;
but he says this is good for me.
I ask my master why it would not be better
to let each of us keep our own money.
He says it is because he knows
what is best for each of us.
We believe him.
He is a good man.
My master tells me:
Evil masters in other places are not as good as he;
they threaten our comfortable lifestyle and peace.
So, he sends my children
to fight the slaves of evil masters.
I mourn their deaths,
but my master says it is necessary.
He gives me medals for their sacrifice,
and I believe him.
He is a good man.
Good masters sometimes have to kill evil masters,
and their slaves.
This is necessary to preserve our way of life;
to show others that our version of slavery is the best.
I asked my master:
Why do evil masters' slaves have to be killed,
along with their evil master?
He said:
"Because they carry out his evil deeds."
"Besides, they could never learn our system;
they have been indoctrinated to believe
that only their master is good."
My master knows what is best.
He protects me and my children.
He is a good man.
My master lets me vote for a new master,
every few years.
I cannot vote to have no master,
but he generously lets me choose
between two candidates he has selected.
I eagerly wait until election day,
since voting allows me to forget that I am a slave.
Until then, my current master tells me what to do.
I accept this.
It has always been so,
and I would not change tradition.
My master is a good man.
At the last election,
about half the slaves were allowed to vote.
The other half had broken rules set by the master,
or were not thought by him to be fit.
Those who break the rules
should know better than to disobey!
Those not considered fit should gratefully accept
the master chosen for them by others.
It is right, because we have always done it this way.
My master is a good man.
There were two candidates.
One received a majority of the vote -
about one-fourth of the slave population.
I asked why the new master
can rule over all the slaves,
if he only received votes from one-fourth of them?
My master said:
"Because some wise masters long ago
did it that way."
"Besides, you are the slaves;
and we are the master."
I did not understand his answer, but I believed him.
My master knows what is best for me.
He is a good man.
Some slaves have evil masters.
They take more than half of their slaves' money
and are chosen by only one-tenth,
rather than one-fourth, of their slaves.
My master says they are different from him.
I believe him.
He is a good man.
I asked if I could ever become a master,
instead of a slave.
My master said, "Yes, anything is possible."
"But first you must pledge allegiance
to your present master,
and promise not to abandon the system
that made you a slave."
I am encouraged by this possibility.
My master is a good man.
He tells me slaves are the real masters,
because they can vote for their masters.
I do not understand this, but I believe him.
He is a good man;
who lives for no other purpose
than to make his slaves happy.
I asked if I could be neither a master nor a slave.
My master said, "No, you must be one or the other."
"There are not other choices."
I believe him.
He knows best.
He is a good man.
I asked my master how our system is different,
from those evil masters.
He said:
"In our system, masters work for the slaves."
No longer confused, I am beginning to accept his logic.
Now I see it!
Slaves are in control of their masters,
because they can choose new masters every few years.
When the masters appear to control the slaves
in between elections,
it is all a grand delusion!
In reality, they are carrying out the slaves' desires.
For if this were not so,
they would not have been chosen in the last election.
How clear it is to me now!
I shall never doubt the system again.
My master is a good man.

" It is Time For Civilized Man to Examine Spiritual Anarchy as a
Way of Life!"
4-20-04
I do not want to belong to any organization of
a spiritual kind;
please understand this....
If an organization be created for this purpose, it becomes a crutch, a
weakness,
a bondage, and must cripple the individual, and prevent him from growing,
from establishing his uniqueness, which lies in the discovery for himself
of that absolute, unconditioned Truth.
Krishnamurti on Spiritual Anarchy
Spiritual Anarchy is an open mind.
4-21-04
Anarchy is liberation from the tyranny of psychological
enslavement to the conditioning of one's dualistic intellect. It comes
to one who is grounded in the Truth which always lies beyond the Intellect
-- the realm of the limited concept.
A True Anarchist is an unconflicted being, untouched by the vicissitudes
of dualistic reactions.
He is one who is in this world (the world of thought) but not of it.
He is the Truth, the Life, and the Way.
He is the I AM THAT I AM.
He is the essence the world has called Christ.
In other non-Biblical terms, he is a simple, plain, unpretentious, directly
perceiving, integral and uncompromised manifestation of Truth itself.
Such a balanced person has the grace of Supreme Intelligence guiding his/her
every action and therefore has neither need nor desire for power, status,
and wealth.
Freed of that conditioned human curse that is power, the energy of non-harm
manifests as the natural momentum of that person.
Why would such a person need the corruption of man-made law to guide him?
Such a person is a "True Anarchist."
His guiding TRUTH can be stated simply thus: "In this moment, and
every moment henceforth, do not lie, cheat, steal, exploit, or INITIATE
harm to another. LOVE thy neighbor as Thyself.
By Raymond Karczewski; on Spiritual Anarchy.

It has been awhile since I have been inspired to write anything. It feels
good to feel I have a little something to say. I am on the path... even
though I have been uninspired to write anything for the past couple of
months. What I want to talk about today falls in the area of reading sign,
symbolism, spiritual geometry.
For the past two or three years when I have had a bad
night and couldn't sleep, and decided to sleep in, 9 times out of 10 I
would wake up at exactly at 10:20 AM. Needless to say, I have wondered
about it a lot.
There is an old (ancient) alchemic axiom the says the
sides of a square are light and the corners are dark. If you draw a circle
inside of a square, with the circle touching the sides of the square,
this axiom becomes apparent... the sides are very thin (easy for the light
to pass through) and the space at the corners is very thick, dark and
hard to light... like holding a candle in the center of a square dark
room... the candle lights the side walls of the room but not the corners.
If you do an overlay of time on a circle i.e. 12 noon
is at the top, 6 is at the bottom and 9&3 are to the left and right.
So, placing a square in a circle, with the base of the
square in the horizontal position, you will notice that a line drawn from
the center of the circle to the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions the
line passes through the light sides of the square.
The + then would be a symbol
of light. And conversely an X
would be a symbol of Darkness.(crossed out, poison, a pirate
etc.) You will note that a line drawn from the 10 o'clock position through
to the 4 o'clock symbolizing 10:20 AM is one of the dark legs of the
X.
My Inner Being or Spiritual Guides are continually warning
me that sleeping during the day is against God's Law. Thank you!
"And God will send you each morning the angel
of sunshine to wake you from your sleep. Therefore, "obey"
your Heavenly Father's summons, and lie not idle in your beds,
for the angels of air and water await you already without. And labor all
day long with the angels of the Earthly Mother... Resist day and night
the temptations of Satan. Wake not by night, neither sleep by
day, lest the angels of God depart from you."
From: Essene Gospel of Peace, Book I
4-29-04 I woke this morning at exactly
10:20 AM. [X]
