Inner Wisdom = Spiritual Light

God created man in His image... which means that he gave man all of
His attributes and abilities. God gave man intelligence, the ability to make
choices, and the power to create. Why?

God wanted to see what man would do with these faculties... what he would
think, what he would choose and what he would create. Would man choose
to be a god... or a devil? A being of light or darkness? Or would man just
accept the cultural world view, set up by the rich and powerful, and just be
a drone.

The people that accept the world view of things will eventually, very slowly,
as the whole culture evolves, overcome the cultural conditioning and their animal natures and become beings of light.

The devils (the powerful, the rich, the selfish, greedy and cruel) will try and prevent this from happening any way they can... war, depressions, shortages, repression. The overall battle is one of light and darkness.

The earth and it's people today live in almost total spiritual darkness. A person living by their highest light dispels the darkness around themselves and those that enter their sphere of radiance. Each spiritual person creates a sphere of light which lifts the surrounding area out of darkness.

As a seeker of truth ascends their spiritual light grows brighter and brighter.
And if any person wanders into darkness their light dims. Spiritual light may be increased by seeking out God's laws and applying them.

For the body, "physical purity"... eating a raw food diet and cleansing the body by fasting and other methods; for the mind, "mental purity"... truthfulness, forgiveness, meditation and prayer and, "right thinking"...always positive, never judging, remembering that you are the Christ and that your thoughts create, and talking to and being guided by your Inner Voice.

Every seeker of truth is a beacon of light illuminating the darkness... helping to guide others along their upward path to spiritual enlightenment. Be light!
Stay on the Path!

All experience ultimately leads to spiritual enlightenment.

Country Living: Spring time in the mountains

The weather is milder now. Cherry trees are beginning to show their pink blossoms. The wild tom turkeys are fanning their tail feathers trying to attract a mate. We have seen a couple of hummingbirds that have arrived early... they are not due for a week.

Spring, a time of renewal, what a beautiful time of the year... it is our favorite season. Yellow daffodils are blooming all through the woods and along the roads. People are burning piles of fallen limbs before the woods dry out... trimming fruit trees, grapes and roses. We are looking forward to planting our garden.

Each of our five hens are laying an egg a day... eggs are not part of our diet... we give them to friends. We enjoy watching the chickens scratching about in the yard... a reminder of childhood days and after school chores.

We are blessed here a Humming Bird Hollow to be able to watch nature unfold winter snows into springtime blossoms and on into summer's hot sunny days and ripe fruit. We live in a paradise... Juanita and I... thank you Lord for our home, the wonders of nature, and our lives.

Inner Wisdom: "Looping" mental clutter

Have you ever wondered why you have those nasty unpleasant thoughts continually looping through your mind over and over. Negative mental clutter is very unpleasant and unhealthy. And the main question is...
how to get rid of it.

Mental clutter, like all memories, are stored in the memory banks of your body. According to ancient scriptures your memories are stored in the large muscles of you back, arms and legs.

Memories are stored in digital form in cells which are given either a positive or negative charge. Toxic matter, (mucus) which is poison, is positively charged and clings-adheres-bonds with whatever it touches.

Toxic matter collected in the muscle tissue creates an environment where negative memories can be stored. The poison gets inside of individual cells and alters the cells natural charge and is impossible for the cell to expel without help. The outward manifestation of deposits of toxic matter in the muscles are knots and cramps.

The pain caused by the knots and cramps is a call for help from the body to the conscious mind. "Please help me remove this poison!" Likewise, the unpleasant painful looping memory is a call for resolution... apology, forgiveness, restitution, whatever is needed to release it; which in turn will help release the trapped cells storing the negative thought.

When a person is injured the body immediately rushes to fill the area with toxic matter hoping to expel it from the body. The toxic matter in turn attacks damaged nerves in the area causing pain. When a person with a physically pure body is injured they don't feel any pain... no toxic matter to attack injured nerves... no pain.

Toxic matter is introduced into the body by improper diet. Mental clutter and negative thoughts are the result of wrong thinking, dark emotions and misguided actions.

Fasting and a proper diet are the easiest and fastest way of cleanse both the toxic waste from the body and looping mental clutter from the mind. There are many references on how to cleanse toxic waste out of the body
throughout this journal.

Country Medicine: Anti-depressant

Whenever I get a bit down, feel frustrated or thinking obsessively I try and remember this little trick I learned from scientology. Stop thinking about what is bothering you and focus outward, look out at the trees, flowers, the sky, etc... the beautiful things in nature. Really focus on seeing things outside your head, and keep your focus outward. You will immediately begin to feel better... at least I do. We were meant to observe... not worry and fret and judge... look around you, and see how beautiful things are... and count your blessings!

Raw Food Recipe: Fruit Pie Desert

Equipment:

We use an upright electric food chopper, one with a removable plastic bowl on top, with removable spinning blade and shallow cover. A regular blender or champion juicer may work as well.

And a small electric coffee grinder.

All ingredients should be organic.

Blend two cored apples or pears with skin on until smooth, add two small handfuls of raisins and blend until raisin pieces are the size preferred, empty into bowl.

Grind a small handful or two of almonds in a electric coffee grinder and spread on top of blended fruit. My wife, Juanita, likes to sprinkle cinnamon
on top of the ground almonds.

Easy and fast to fix, easy cleanup, easy to digest, all raw and delicious.

Inner Wisdom: Listen for God's Inspiration

It is important for me to write every day... to express what the Lord would have me write. Often I begin not knowing the subject or not having any inspiration at all. I am lost without that inspiration... waiting.

It is the same with my life... if I act before I receive God's inspiration... things usually do not turn out well. "Things went well in Eden until man stopped listening to his Inner Voice." It is important for all of us to listen and wait on God's inspiration so that we can reclaim Eden.

To bring down "Heaven to Earth" we need to listen to God's voice... His inspiration in our thoughts and feelings. We need to wait, watch and be aware of our inner world and the outer world in which we live. We need to learn how to tune in to the rhythms of our lives.

Every day we wake to a new world... another chance to create heaven or hell in our life and in the lives of those we touch. The past is gone... let it go! Live in the moment... each moment... the first and the last moment... the only moment... now.

What is past is gone... fore better or worse... we can do nothing about it. BUT... right now we can create heaven for ourselves and those about us. We can put a smile on our face and shine it on others... those we know and those we don't... it doesn't matter, your radiance will be accepted like the sunshine by all and warm their heart.

Your smile is the cornerstone of your heaven... and the cornerstone of Heaven on Earth for the rest of us. Live up, and be up for yourself and for all the others that need a lift this day. Your smile, kind word and helping hand are the materials from which Heaven on Earth are built.

Inner Wisdom: What is Important...

I got up a little early this morning, about 4:00. I put a log on the fire, sat down, and started thinking... what are the most important facts or pieces of information that people lack today:

God is all there is... God is everything... all spirit and matter.

God created you... and lives with you in your body... He is your true self.

You are the Christ... you are one with God.

God gave you (your personal self) intelligence, the ability to make choices, and the power to create.

All people are one Being... His Being... hence,"Love others as yourself...
because they are yourself."

The most important thing to do in life is to Love and Serve God... and love and serve others... which is the same thing.

You serve God by helping others and seeking the truth... and when you find a truth... make it available to others.

The goal in everyones life is spiritual enlightenment... be happy, helpful,
and enjoy your life... because that is what God wants us to do.

If you want to change your life... change your thinking... and act on that inspiration. What you think... creates your world. Don't let others think for you... this is your life... God gave it to you... it's yours... create your own world and your own happiness. When you accomplish this... show others how to do it. Become a thinker, speaker, writer, actor of truth.

Seek spiritual enlightenment by physical and mental purity, fasting, raw food diet, few words, natural living, good works, right thinking, and exhilaration of the mind by following the guidance of the Inner Voice.

Country Living: How to build a fire in a wood stove.

(This information is not part of the most important... unless you don't know how, that is :-). Part of happiness is a warm house and a warm heart.

Building a fire in a wood stove is a simple process with a little practice. Crumple up three or four sheets of old newspaper and place loosely in the stove. Avoid colored ink on the newsprint because they release toxic fumes into the atmosphere when burned.

Place a large handful of dry split kindling or dry twigs 1/8" to 1/4" in size on top of the paper. On top of that crisscross loosely 6 or 8 pieces of dry wood
1/2" to 11/4" in diameter.

Open the damper wide open, light the paper, close the door but do not latch,
to allow some air in. Now here is a trick I use... when the paper is about half consumed I take a small metal snouted heat gun and just opening the door wide enough to allow me to get the gun and my hand inside of the stove (you may want to wear a glove), I then turn a strong blast of air on the remaining paper and kindling.

There is a bit of smoke at first but soon the kindling bursts into flames and
the smoke is consumed. You can use a small hair dryer but be careful not to get it to close to the flames and melt the plastic. You don't need to use a blower, it just helps to speed things along... which you might like to do if the house is freezing.

When the kindling is burning well, add larger and larger pieces of wood and let them burn until you have a glowing bed of coals and then you can add small logs. You control the burn rate by opening and closing the damper. The fuel needs air to burn... close down the air and you slow the ability of the wood to burn.

That's it... now all you need is a good stove, wood, a hatchet, newspaper and matches, a blower and some practice.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, I often use the blower in the morning when there are a few coals left in the bottom of the stove... I put some medium sized pieces of wood on top of the coals and blow the flames into life.

Another trick is if you have large coals or chunks of unburned wood left in the stove and you want to add more fuel... sweep the coals to the center of the stove in a row front to back with a poker and add a log on either side of the row of coals and place a small log on the coals, close the door, open the damper and you will soon have a roaring fire.

A stove poker is a steel rod about 2' long with a handle on one end and a point and hook on the other.

Something else I use around the woodstove is a pair of welder's gloves. They come half way up to the elbows and protect you from sparks and splinters.
They are great for adjusting a piece of ornery wood that you just can't get positioned with the poker. They have enough insulation that you can reach in the stove and grab a piece of burning wood and put it where you want it. Handy!

You can buy them at a welding supply shop, Home Depot or pick them up at a yard sale for a buck. I like them because they protect my arms when I'm carrying wood in the house from the woodpile.

Raw Food Recipe: Pie Crust

Grind 1 cup of almonds and 1 cup of moistened date pieces with 3 T. of honey in upright food chopper. Remove mix from chopper to wax paper. Flour with almond powder ground in small coffee grinder and roll into thin crust and transfer to small individual pie plates (or just press directly into pie plates.) Add cinnamon and other spices as desired. Makes a delicious crust for fruit fillings slightly sweetened with raw honey.

City Living: CHRISTMAS TREES SELL FOR UP TO $500 IN MANHATTAN, Yahoo news headline 12-5-06. Today, 12-6-06, I stopped at a small country store and picked up an Avon catalog for Juanita. She seldom orders anything but likes to look at the new products.

This month Avon is advertising an electronic finger nail file. Is it just me???... or is this society getting more crazy as time goes by. I gotta have one of those files to carry around in my shirt pocket... just in case I break a nail out in the woods:-). Forgive me, I know I'm breaking the law by judging this foolishness... but often, it's laugh and carry on or go insane.

Inner Wisdom: Seeking the truth... and raising consciousness.

Where does the person begin to look for the truth. What is the geography or geometry of it's location? Imagine a circle divided in quarters... 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees.

If you start looking for the truth in that circle, you will find the world view of things at zero. The zero is a good symbol for the world view of things because the world view is total illusion and has very little truth in it.

Directly opposite of zero is 180 degrees... this is where the truth lies... symbolically. The truth lies directly opposite the world view of things.
Most people cannot see the truth over there, because of the intense conditioning they have received from the world view's system.

What is needed is for someone to point out a crack in the system, or better yet, would be for a person to find a crack in the system for themselves. Here is a little story as an example. The government, and the powers that be, have drummed into the heads of teenagers that drugs are bad for you. Bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad... for you... bad, bad, bad!!! No reasoning... just bad!

So the kids try pot... and low and behold, they find out that smoking pot makes them feel really good and relieves the anxiety of their world view of life. Hey!!! all you guys lied to me... parents, cops, teachers, doctors, politicians.

So the kids say to themselves, "They lied to me about pot... what else did they lie to me about. And as the authorities point out marijuana is a "doorway drug" because the kids go from smoking pot on to heavier drugs that are addictive... because they were lied to in the first place... a vicious circle. [I am not into drugs at all. Pete]

Anyway, that story is a good example of a crack in the world view system. Once a person finds out the truth about something that the system has lied about... they begin to realize that they have been had... and they become more open to the possibilities of the 180 degree area.

The crack can be any number of things: seeing a UFO, healing an incurable dis-ease with diet, the obvious lies and cover ups of Roswell, Ruby Ridge, Waco, President Kennedy's death and on and on; dropping out or making a leap of faith and finding it can work, etc. This crack, this finding the truth about something that the world view folks claim is a no-no, will start most people on the path to higher consciousness.

Because that is what this is all about... the truth, any truth, expands one's consciousness. And once a truth is realized, no matter how simple or small,
most people then want to know the truth about everything. One thing leads to another, and maybe, just maybe, in time, the person will take up the seekers path. Seeking the truth full-time. This journal is an example of that path.

Country Living: Hauling away the trash.

We hauled a load of trash to the transfer site today. Coming home by a round about way we saw a couple of dozen elk in a meadow beside the road.
They were big beautiful animals grazing peacefully... we stopped to watch them... they paid us no mind. We felt blessed by this wonderful experience.

Raw Food Recipe: Salsa and Guacamole Entree

Chop two red ripe organic medium sized tomatoes in the upright food chopper until they are about 1/4" chunks. Careful, this happens in one or two touches of the "on" button. Pour chopped tomatoes into bowl.

Chop medium sized peeled cucumber and 1/2 of a mild sweet onion... add to tomatoes and stir. This mild salsa is what we eat. You can add all kinds of hot peppers and spices to taste.

I sprinkle my salsa with a moderate amount of salt free, all natural, "Original Blend, Mrs. Dash," herbal seasoning mix. Juanita prefers a "hotter," Mrs. Dash mix called "Southwest Chipotle." Mrs. Dash makes 12 different herbal seasoning mixes.

We use a prepared guacamole which you can find in the cooler in the fruit and vegetable section of any large grocery store. We do this instead of buying fresh avocados because about half of the avocados we get home with are spoiled or old and we live to far from the store to return them.

Serve salsa in a bowl with guacamole as a side dish. One of my favorite raw food meals!

Inner Wisdom: Expanding consciousness

Heaven on Earth is being pulled down to earth... now. The consciousness of people is being expanded every day. Windows that have been closed for centuries are being thrown open and the light is pouring in. How... and what does this mean?

Have you noticed in the supermarket, over the past year or so, that the organic section of the fruit and vegetable cooler is growing. People are rapidly becoming more aware that what they eat affects their health. And the word is out... raw fruits and vegetables are man's natural diet. This is a ray of light that began a hundred years ago and it has grown until it now fills the whole window.

Have you seen or heard the term, "alternative medicine" or "alternative energy" or "recycling." These terms define and mean new ways of doing
things... as opposed to the accepted way we have done things... forever. This is new in our lifetime... this seeking... and finding the truth.

These "alternative" truths are not being found just in this country... but around the world... the light is flooding in everywhere. This light... the alternative light of truth is the light of the spirit... the light which will illuminate Heaven on Earth.

And enlightened people are flocking to the light... immediately accepting the new ways... seeing the light of truth in them. But many with vested interest in the darkness of the old ways are hanging back... wondering what to do... how to stop what they cannot understand. They do not want to change... or things to change... they want to go on living graciously in comfort and luxury
provided by someone else's toil and sweat.

My hope is that the light of truth will continue to spread peacefully, until a critical mass of spiritual consciousness is reached; and that this new reality of light becomes firmly established without threatening the people in power still clinging to the dark ways of the past. I pray that the transformation from darkness to light can be accomplished without crisis.

For the first time in history the common man has a tool to voice and spread the truth... that tool is the internet...the world wide web. The power of the internet is immense because it cannot be controlled by the people in power
that have a vested interest in the old ways of darkness.

Whenever I hear that someone in congress is putting forth a bill to try and control the internet I immediately write both of my senators and my representative and ask them to vote against such a bill. The internet is a web
of light surrounding the earth bringing the dawn to a darkened world. It should always remain free and uncontrolled.

"Let the Light of Truth be thrown on every situation... for the darkness cannot withstand the Light." Walk toward the light... immerse yourself in
it... stay on the path.

Common Sense: Living in a city is living dangerously...

Think Hurricane Katrina!...
and the government response to the peoples needs.

Move to the country... live in peace... work toward self sufficiency... food, clothing, shelter... be warm, dry, secure... meditate, pray, garden... live a natural lifestyle. Take care of your spiritual life... all else is irrelevant.

[ It's interesting... I got stuck here in my writing... I moved to my easy chair... picked up, God Spoke To Me by Eileen Caddy, opened it, and read the following:

THE CHRYSALIS

(Part 2)

40. Think of a butterfly emerging from the comfort and security of its chrysalis. Suppose the butterfly stopped in its process of emerging and said,"No, I cannot leave this place. I don't know what may lie outside."

Suppose it stopped and refused to move out. What would happen? It would be failing in its own evolution, and if it remained in its chrysalis, it would simply shrivel up and die.

So it is with you, My child. To refuse to move on because you are afraid of the unknown would most certainly hold up your evolution. I have the most wonderful surprises and joys awaiting you as you step forth fearlessly into this new adventure, as you emerge from your chrysalis.

There is nothing to fear. Only the perfect will result from this advance on your part, a whole new opening up of many untold mysteries and wonders. Remember, My child, I AM with you always, no matter where you are or what you are doing. I AM there guiding and guarding you.

Footprints on the Path and God Spoke To Me by Eileen Caddy contain many answers for the modern day seeker.

Country Living: Moving from the city to the country may require a "Leap of Faith."

For those of us that were brought up on a ranch or farm, country living is easy and natural. We are used to the more "primitive lifestyle"... dust, dirt
and mud... and things like hauling winter firewood and dry summer water.

So how does a person that has lived in the city in an apartment all their life make a move out to the country. Where to move to, how to move, where will I find a place to stay, how will I make a living, money???... Who?, What?, Where?, When?, Why?, and How?... Oh! my God, Oh! my God!

Well, unknowingly you found the answer to all your questions and worries in the last three words... Oh! my God, show me the way... guide me in moving closer to you... show me how to live a simple, more natural life.

Talk to God, tell Him/Her what you want to do and why you are doing it and ask for guidance. If the inspiration comes to load up your car and drive... do it. God is your guide and you cannot miss your destination. Planning and waiting for the right time, only leads to more planning and waiting. Inspiration is the key to making this move.

Forget being reasonable, have faith in God, follow your inspiration... make your leap of faith... God is with you... always.

Inner Wisdom: The Kingdom of Heaven

Today in our society most things are exactly opposite of what they should be.
Our children are taught to succeed by competition rather than cooperation.
And most people believe that money and getting ahead are more important than, "loving their neighbor" and peace of mind.

Where do these ideas come from? Some are taught in schools... some are taught at home, the church and workplace and the media: written word, radio, television, news and the movies. The foregoing are really just distribution points... where do the ideas really come from that shape our society and culture... and why?

The answer to this question is very complicated but surely these ideas are worldly and not spiritual. The seekers point of view is not worldly but spiritual... so how do we cope with the, "world view" and live a right-use life? How do each of us in our small way help to create heaven on earth?

When Jesus said, "Kingdom of Heaven is within" He gave us the key to what we must do. The Kingdom of Heaven is created within each of us by our own right thinking... and our right thinking will manifest the Kingdom of Heaven in our world... for us and those that we love. And the love starved will see Kingdom of Heaven flowing from your heart and your hand and soon forget their worldly ways and be lifted up.

This is my dream... my vision of Inner Wisdom.

Country Living: Kerosene Lamps

Kerosene lamps are pretty good lighting if you don't have electricity. They smell a bit but with good management the odor and smoke can be minimized.
Trim the wick before lighting... just roll the wick up a bit and trim off the black burned part on the tip of the wick with a pair of scissors. The tip should be slightly rounded.

When you are done, roll the wick back down a bit, light the wick and replace the chimney(the glass tube). Adjust the wick up and down until you get the brightest light without smoking.

The shape of the chimney is important. A straight sided chimney will give you enough air and burning space for a small bright light which conserves fuel. The most common chimney has a slight bulge, burns well and gives a good light and is still pretty easy on the fuel.

I like the chimney that is kinda squat with a big bulge... this gives the wick lots of air with space to burn and the wick can be rolled way up without smoking for a really bright light. Probably burns twice the fuel as a lamp with a straight sided chimney.

I was brought up using kerosene lamps for real... we didn't get electricity on the ranch until I was 12. So the burning of a kerosene lamp is a childhood smell with lots of memories... after school chores: chopping wood and filling the wood box, pumping water and carrying in buckets to fill the side boiler on the kitchen wood stove, picking up the eggs and feeding the chickens, getting the cows in for milking, feeding the stock (horses and cows), separating the cream from the milk, washing up, feeding the dogs.

Almost forgot... when you buy a lamp get one with a large reservoir or you will be filling it every day. A lamp with a tall base is good at the table for eating or reading. A lamp with no base is best for wall mounting or hanging.

If you are extra clumsy or have children in the house you may want to buy metal lamps because if you break a glass kerosene lamp full of oil you are going to have an immediate large fire. Its nothing to worry about... just be careful!

Serious kerosene lamps (ones for real use, rather than just decoration) can be purchased from old fashioned hardware stores, camping goods stores or
co-op feed stores. Smokeless or perfumed kerosene can be found at Wal Mart or Home Depot, but is pretty dear.

Regular kerosene can be purchased from some country service stations or fuel oil distributors. It should cost about the same as gasoline for your car... if they want $5.00 a gallon go someplace else... it is not a real hot item and a bit unusual, so check around. A gallon will light up many-many dark evenings.

Raw Food Recipe: Salad Dressing

Mix 1/4 cup of fresh squeezed lemon juice with 1/4 cup of raw honey until smooth. Herbs may be added. We use this dressing without adding
any herbs and sprinkle Mrs. Dash on top. This dressing is very tasty on a lettuce and tomato salad.

Inner Wisdom: Diet

When I see well meaning young parents feeding their children a hamburger, french fries and a large pepsi cola for lunch... with an ice cream cone for desert, I shudder to think of what unseen misery they are causing their kids. The children's digestive system is just not setup to handle such unnatural food... or the adults digestive system either, for that matter.

Some children's systems handle this modern toxic repast better than others...
and some are immediately. "off the wall." Children with really bad food poisoning are given calming medication so they can sit still in their seats at school. These children are hyped up by the food they eat... so the answer is to give them a pill of really toxic chemicals to calm them down. Treat the symptoms... not the cause. Insanity!

"And the fruit of the tree shall be your meat"... are not just idle words. "Thou shall not kill"... doesn't mean just human beings, but all living creatures. These laws... God's laws, are fundamental to all major religions, and fundamental to living a calm, healthy, peaceful life.

What you take into the body affects your, "inner environment"... if it is poison it upsets your whole system including your mind. Most of human kind's problems today can be traced directly to what they eat or otherwise take into their body.

Our diet... the food we eat... is so basic that few of us question whether it is good for us or not. This is what my parents ate... all their lives... and this is what they fed me... so this is what I eat. What's to question? What are you some kind of kook?

OK... the experts... the people that really know... say to eat three square meals a day which include something from all four food groups. Who can argue with that?

On the other hand those of us that are aware of and listen to our body know that any substance called "food" that is manufacture or processed by man is poison to the body. Our natural diet is the same today as it was when man first planted his fields, gardens and orchards to grow his food.

Man's Natural Diet:

Fresh (or dried), organic, fruits and vegetables, nuts, sprouted grains and seeds, herbs, raw milk (with leafy greens) and raw honey. "Let the weight of your daily food be not less than a mina, [one pound+/-] but mark that it go not beyond two." This diet is alkaline forming and provides all of the simple sugars. From: The Essene Gospel of Peace Book I, p. 43

This diet provides all the nourishment the body needs and eliminates well. Cooked and acid-forming foods (meat, dairy and grains) leave a mucus residue in the body which clogs the system and creates a breeding ground for germs.

Raw Food Recipe: Medjool Date and Banana Snack.

Take a small bite of each and chew... a real taste treat! We only have these on special occasions because Medjool Dates are very expensive and not always available. The dates are best when they are fresh and oilily looking on the outside.

Country Living: Morning tea

This morning we woke up to six inches of snow on the ground. The temperature was 25 degrees F. The living room was warm because I left a half-round of wood to smolder on the bed of coals in the stove when we went to bed.

I leave a fire burning +/- day and night all winter. Most of the time it's not a real fire but just a log smoldering away... enough to keep the living room warm.

At night we leave the outside door in the bedroom wide open so the wind can whistle through and out an open upstairs window. We are plenty warm under a down comforter and three blankets. I put a light plywood gate across the open door to keep the little night foraging creatures out... raccoons, skunks, possums.

I get up a couple of times a night to check the fire in the living room and to answer natures call. It's a chilly trip across the bedroom to the living room door when the temperature is seven degrees below freezing.

In the morning I usually get up between 4 and 5 and build up a good fire to heat up the living room end of our cabin. This also helps to clear the chimney of soot from the overnight smoldering fire.

Jaunita got up about 7 and made herb tea and we drank it in front of the woodstove, watching the flames through the glass door. This is usually how our day begins... slowly, quietly, softly. It is snowing great big flakes now...
the wild birds are enjoying the grain in the feeder under the porch. Heaven.

Solving one of nature's problems...

If you have an elderly gentleman living at your house and he continually misses the toilet bowl while passing water, you need one of these handy tools.

Take a standard milk or water jug which is 6"X6"X9" tall and cut a 3" round hole in the top which removes the cap and pouring spout. Do not remove handle. This part (#1) is done.

Take a second jug (#2) and cut the bottom 5" off across the jug, discard the lower portion. Cut the handle off of the upper portion of part #2 where it attaches to the jug wall.

Cut a 1/2" slot upward from the skirt of upper portion straight to the hole left from removing the handle. Leave the cap on the spout. This is the top for jug #1. Slip the top #2 down over jug #1 being sure to align the cut out handle slot for a snug fit.

Persuade your elder gentleman guest to use the "handy jug" to pass his water so that your bathroom floor or rug will not be soiled. The jug can be used all day and emptied at night and cleaned and sterilized by swishing a light solution of water and clorox around in the jug. Be careful not to get the bleach water solution on the bathroom rug or your clothes.

The handy jug is also a good bedtime companion on freezing winter nights.
Cut a elongated 4" hole in #1 for women to use.

Oahspe Bible Wisdom:

CHAPTER VIII.

JEHOVIH hath said: I gave to man legs and feet to walk; arms and hands to work; eyes to see, and ears to hear; and, withal, the capacity to reflect and comprehend and understand.

2. I gave none of thee capacities to lie dormant or to be useless. Neither can any man advance to My highest kingdoms if crippled, or weak, uncultivated in all or in part of these talents I have given him.

3. But he shall be perfected in all particulars before he is capacitated for companionship with My exalted ones.

4. The Lord said : It mattereth little what kind of workmanship a man doeth; for one may till the soil, and thus train his hands and arms to full development; and another may weave, or spin, or forge iron, and also attain full development.

It is not the kind of labour, but the development that comes of useful practice, which maketh every talent to stand upright in heaven as a glory to the Creator.

5. For there be servants on earth, who neither read nor write, that are better
developed in their talents and members than many of the rich, and kings and.philosophers.

6. And when they die and enter my heavenly places, the ranks and caste in my kingdoms seem to them to be upside-down. The rich man, or the king, or the pleader (lawyer), or priest, or the philosopher, may be as a helpless child, whilst he who was as a pauper on earth may be as a very God over them to lift them up.

7. Neither is the preference to the rich, nor to the poor, nor to the philosopher, nor the fool; for any of these may be as dwarfs in some talent or part, whilst also any of these may be a most perfect man in spirit.

8. So God established, through his high-raised officers, schools and colleges and factories, heavenly, adapted to the spirits of the dead, even as similar places are established on the earth for mortals.

Site Statistics:

On the average about 5000 people visit my site per month in 2006 from all over the world... 9000 in 2010. About 50 people spend more than an hour at one visit, another 100 to 150 spend 15 minutes to an hour. Many of the hits are return visits from bookmarks. In 2010 more than 100 people spend hour or more and 200+ spend 15 minutes to an hour.

So out of 5000 people about 200 give my site some real attention (4%). This pleases me a great deal because when I started I estimated that only 2 or 3% of the people that hit on my site would be at all interested.

About 70% of the people use Internet Explorer for a browser (58% in 2010), 20% use Firefox (25% in 2010), Netscape and Opera make up another 4%, the final 6% is divided among the lesser known browsers.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer causes web page designers, myself included, a lot of problems because they do not comply with agreed upon world wide web standards. This causes IE to distort many pages displayed. Microsoft does not offer web page designers any help or explanation and seemingly refuse to fix the problem.

Firefox, Netscape and Opera, on the other hand comply with the WWW standards and usually render web pages without any distortion at all.

Connection to my site from search engines by direct address 45%, bookmarks 50%; Google 615, Yahoo 339, Ask Jeeves 47, MSN 37. Links from sites other than search engines 6% (137), bookmarks 13% (395).

Most visitors (95%) use MS Windows for an operating system, 4% use Macintosh. Three subjects are always at the top of the keyword list: fasting, sungazing, and green smoothies. Most people at least glance at the main pages: homepage, the seeker, sitemap, journal index, links page, and most read jan05 which reviews the main points of the site.

Other pages that get a good reading are: apr05, IMMACULATE CONCEPTION and PARENTING THE CHRIST CHILD, Part 3, EDUCATION; apr05, BIRTHING AND RAISING CHILDREN TO LIVE THEIR POTENTIAL AS BEINGS OF LIGHT,
Part 4;
apr06, GOD SPOKE TO ME by EILEEN CADDY; nov04, SECRET OF SECRETS: LOVING and BEING LOVED; mar06, THE FINDHORN GARDEN... Man and Nature in Cooperation, Parts 1,2,3; jun06, FOOTPRINTS ON THE PATH by EILEEN CADDY; and oct04, Essene Gospel of Peace, Book I.

It usually takes me 2 weeks or so to create a page, 80 hours, sometimes much longer, occasionally less. My computer is a Dell Dimension 4700, 3.2g. The web page building program I use is Dreamweaver MX. Thank you for visiting my web site. Please forgive the many mistakes in the text.

Survey shatters technology assumptions:
By ANICK JESDANUN, AP Associated Press Internet Writer

The telephone study of 4,001 U.S. adults, including 2,822 Internet users, was conducted Feb. 15 to April 6, 2006, and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

A broad survey about the technology people have, how they use it, and what they think about it shatters assumptions...

The Pew Internet and American Life Project found that adult Americans are broadly divided into three groups:

31 % are elite technology users, (they have both a cell phone and a modern computer)

20 % are moderate users... evenly divided into "mobile phone users;" and those" connected but hassled,"... those who have internet technology but find it burdensome.

49%, the remainder have little or no usage of the Internet or cell phones.

The high-tech elites, for instance, are almost evenly split into: (7.75% in each group below)

1. "Omnivores," who fully embrace technology and express themselves creatively through blogs and personal Web pages.

2. "Connectors," who see the Internet and cell phones as communications tools.

3. "Productivity enhancers," who consider technology as largely ways to better keep up with their jobs and daily lives.

4. "Lackluster veterans," those who use technology frequently but aren't thrilled by it. Many longtime Internet users, (the lackluster veterans), remain stuck (by their own choosing) with the decade-old technologies they started with. (They just don’t care as long as it works.)

Country Living: Stocking Up On Winter Food

I was fortunate enough to be able to pick 10 boxes of apples in abandoned orchards this fall. I got some Red and Golden Delicious and two other kinds unknown. We eat a lot of apples and the ten boxes will allow us to take gifts of apples to friends when we visit.

I didn't really pick them in the usual sense... I put a large plastic tarp on the ground under the tree and shook the apples off the tree limbs onto the tarp with a long pole which had a hook on the end.

Then I lifted the corners of the tarp and rolled the apples into a pile in the center where I could scoop them into boxes. When I got home I sorted them,
picking out the leaves, spoiled, worm-eaten and badly deformed apples.

I ended up with three boxes of large unblemished apples and six boxes of worm-eaten apples which we will cut up and use in smoothies or raw fruit pies.

The apples are organic because the trees have not been sprayed or fertilized for years. I stored the apples in boxes on shelves in the barn. When its freezing out its still in the mid 30's F. in the barn... just right for storing apples.

I am amused when Juanita reaches into one of the three boxes of choice apples and says, "Always eat the best apple first." And that is just what we are doing.

At the beginning of November the local health food store has a nut sale and I was able to buy a hundred pounds of almonds for $3.72 a pound. That's a very-very good price because I had been paying $7.98 a pound at the grocery store.

Almonds are one of our main sources of protein. We eat a lot of them. They store well in a cool place in plastic buckets and gallon jars. Now if we can just figure out what to do with all of those jars, we are set for almonds for the year.

Country Living: Stocking Up saves money

Juanita and I have found that buying in bulk when an item is on sale saves us about 30-40% on household necessities.

I use Tone hand soap because it is easy on my skin. Last week we found Tone soap on sale for .50 cents for a 4.25 oz. standard bar. In most stores Tone soap sells for $100-1.29 regular price for a 4.25 oz. bar. We bought a 3 year supply at a 50%+ savings.

We have found over the years that mice don't bother soap stored in the box.
So we just store it on an open shelf in the barn with a newspaper dust cover. Plastic and glass jars and bottles and can goods, if you use them, can also be stored in the open. Cardboard, paper and plastic wrapped food items are at risk.

Paper products: toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, kleenex; must be stored in bug and mouse proof containers. Paper products are bulky and take up a lot of space if you buy them in any amount.

You can buy 30 gallon rectangular plastic boxes new with a tight fitting lids for $7.99 on sale. Or you can pick up clean trunks, metal or wooden boxes, barrels and other large containers at yard sales and swap meets.

Country Living:

I woke up this morning looking up at the skylight and it was covered with snow. This is very unusual weather for the 27th of March. I'm looking out of the window now, over the top of the monitor, at the large fluffy flakes drifting down. It is very beautiful.

I have a roaring fire in the wood stove, so the living room is warm. It is still freezing cold in the bedroom where Juanita is sleeping... soon she will come dashing in, with the puppies in advance, to dress by the stove. Then we will have tea... and watch the snow fall.

Wisdom Of The Master:

I had planned write only what came me through inspiration on this page...
but last night I was browsing Book II of, The Teaching of the Masters of the Far East, and came across this beautiful passage and I would like to share it with you.

AFTER we were confortably seated, Jesus proceeded with the conversation.

" When we stand one with the sum of all Intelligence, and recognize ourselves as an actual part of that Intelligence, and know conclusively that this is Great Principle, God, we shall soon find ourselves conscious of the fact that all intelligence throughout the whole cosmic Universe is working with us."

"We also realize quickly that the intelligence of all great genius as well as the little mentality of the single cell of the body is working with us in perfect harmony and accord."

"This is the One Great Intelligent Cosmic Mind that we are positively allied with. Indeed, we are that very Mind; we are the self-consciousness of the Universe."

"The instant we feel this very thing, nothing can keep us from the Godhead."

" From this Universal Consciousness, we can draw all knowledge; we know that we can know all, without studying and without process of reasoning, not going from one lesson to another nor from one point to another. The lessons are necessary only in order to bring us to the attitude in which we can step forth into this thought. Then we become comprehensive and include all thought."

"There is a complete stream of motivating thought that is irresistible and we know that nothing can divert us from true accomplishment. We are with the whole; thus we move on irresistibly with the whole. It is impossible for
any condition to keep us from our accomplishment."

"The drop of water is only weak when it is removed from the ocean; replace it and it is as powerful as the whole ocean."

"It matters not whether we like it or whether we believe it."

"It is Intelligent Law and we are that very thing."

"The sum of all Truth is the Great Principle, God. Everything from Eternity
to Eternity, whether we think it is a great truth or a little truth; every true word, thought or spoken; is a part of The Great Truth, One Great All, One Universal Truth, and we are that very thing."

"When we realize this oneness and stand absolutely with Truth, we have the whole of Truth back of us and our irresistibility is increased. It is the force of the ocean back of the wave that gives the wave its power; that, too, is but a portion of God-force which man also is."

"The sum of all Love is the Great Principle, God."

"It is the sum of every affection, every fervent emotion, every loving thought, look, word, or deed. Every attracted love, great or small, sublime or low, makes the one infinite love stand forth, and nothing is too great for us."

"As we love unselfishly, we have the complete ocean of Cosmic Love with us. That which is thought least is greatest, as it sweeps on to absolute perfection; thus the whole Universe of Love is consciously with us."

"There is no greater power on earth or in heaven than pure love. Earth becomes heaven; heaven is Humanity's true home."

" Finally the sum of every condition, every form, every being is the One Infinite Cosmic Principle, God, whether it be individuals, worlds, planets, stars, atoms, electrons, or the most minute particles. All together make One Infinite Whole, the body of which is the Universe, the Mind, Cosmic Intelligence; the soul, Cosmic Love."

" Woven together as a whole, their bodies, minds, and souls are held together with the cohesive force of love; yet each one functions in eternal individual identity, moving freely in its individual orbit and octave of harmony, attracted, drawn, and held together by the love of that universe of harmony."

"We constitute that Great Being that nothing can thwart. It is made up of every unit of humanity as well as every unit of the Universe. If a portion of one unit excludes itself from the whole, it makes no difference to Principle Being, but it make a vast difference to the unit. The ocean is not conscious of the removal of the drop of water, but the drop is very conscious of the ocean when it is returned or reunited with it."

"It is not enough for us to say that we are close to the Great Cosmic Principle, God. We must know definitely that we are one with, in, and of, and amalgamated entirely with, Principle; and that we can not be separated or apart from God, Principle."

"Thus we work with the principle of power which is all power. It is the Law, that in Principle we live, move, and have our being."

"Thus, when we wish to come in contact with God, we do not think of something away from us and difficult to attain. All we need know is that God is within as well as all about us and that we are completely included in God; that we are consciously within the presence of God, and are present in God, and in command with full power."

"Thus we need not pause, we need not ponder; we take the path directly to God within. Here the Christ stands steadfast and supreme, and with God we endure forever."

Country Living: Water Barrels

Outside the front and back door to our cabin we have a 55 gallon blue plastic water barrel. These barrels a kept full summer and winter by runoff from the eves troughs. They are under the porch and seldom freeze over but sometimes in the summer they run dry for the lack of rain.

The barrels and a near by bucket are excellent fire protection. A fire is easily extinguished during the first minute of burning... five minutes later it can be an inferno. Readily available water that you can just scoop up, instead of running it from a slow tap, might make a real difference in dry weather.

I like the water barrel by the door because before going in the house from the garden I can scoop up a handful of water and rinse my hands off. In the winter its an easy step to fill the wash pan that we keep on the stove warming all day. Rainwater is soft (no minerals) and nice to wash up with because soap really lathers. Juanita likes to wash her hair in rainwater.

We keep a tea kettle on the stove all the time in the winter and a small still which provides most of our drinking water. The readily available hot water is handy and saves a bit on the power bill. We also conserve on the use of electricity by having our hot water heater on a timer. We only have it on from 4 til 7 in the evening.

When ever we need a pan of water, or to fill a mop bucket its easier to scoop it out of one of the barrels than filling them from a tap. Water barrels are really handy and require little maintenance besides washing them out in the spring and adding a splash of clorox when they begin to grow algae. No...
we buy gallon jugs of distilled drinking water in town.

Inner Wisdom: The Inner Voice -Talking With God

What does a person say to God? Jesus called God his Father... the Father within. God, then, is our Father... a loving Father, and we can tell him anything. And like a loving earthly parental father he will not blame or criticize us but guide us toward what is best for us. Our relationship with God is that of a loving father to his only son or daughter.

When someone asks you about your parental father... you try to put into words how wonderful your father is... how kind and patient he is, and all the things he does for you, and how much fun you have togather. You cannot say enough about how good your father is... you can be completely open with him and tell him anything... you praise him beyond measure.

Your father is often in your thoughts. You think about him a lot. You love him completely. You feel blessed that he is your father, and you give thanks that he is. You know that you are truely blessed.

[If your father is not like this, imagine how you would like him to be. Or think about a truely loved one, your mother or a close friend. The point here is to recognize your feeling of love, recognize your kind thoughts toward a loved one, and your desire to be with and like that person.]

This trust, and this feeling, and this attitude, and this great love for your father, are the very same things you should share with God. Love God without measure... with the same feeling you have for your earthly father.
Let your love for God flow from your heart to God, just as your loves flows to your father, family and friends.

Just look around you and you realize how really wonderful God is. He is the planner, creator and sustainer of all that you see, including yourself. He is the trees and flowers, mountains, the clouds, the sky, stars and the universe... wonderful and wondrous beyond human comprehension. And he loves each one of us individually beyond all possible understanding.

"God is not a great being outside of you, that you are going to bring within and then present to the world. God is that power which is generated and exhilarated by your own thought action. It is true that this power is within and all about you, but it is inactive until you think of it and know that it does exist; then you see it flowing forth from you in limitless measure. "

"By constantly contemplating, praising, blessing and giving thanks to this power you increase its flow; and as you do this it becomes potent and more readily accessible to you. Thus, I say, pray without ceasing. Your daily life is true prayer. You worship, you praise, and with your ever-expanding love, you pour out to all mankind that they may see the Christ, the God-man standing forth triumphant." Jesus, from LTMFE

Your right thinking and feeling, will exhilarate your mind. It is a wonderful feeling... life itself flowing through you. By following the guidance of the Inner Voice, God will lead you to all the wonders that are His to give. By
His Grace all things are possible. You are the Christ... you are one with God.

Country Living: Everyday life in the Country

We have most of the modern conveniences available: electricity, which seldom goes out; telephone; cell phone; US mail service to a large mailbox out on the county road, when we mail a letter we put up a little red metal flag on the side of the box to tell the mailman there is mail to pickup; TV, three channels: ABC, NBC, and PBS, no cable available, we very seldom watch television.

We have a 300' deep well but the water has so much sulphur in it that it is undrinkable. We buy distilled water in town for drinking water. We also have a small still on the wood stove to make drinking water. Our main source of water for bathing, laundry, dishwashing, watering the garden and flowers comes from 3 large black plastic water tanks which hold a total of 4400 gallons.

The water tanks are filled from the eves troughs on the house and barn. The water system for the house and yard is pressurized by a pump and pressure tank in the barn. We have a modern bathroom with tub, flush toilet and sink.

We also have a built in dishwash, large washing machine, propane dryer and propane cook stove and oven. We seldom use the stove anymore, because of our raw food diet.

Other Wisdom: Education

Juanita found an advertisement for this book in a magazine she was reading and brought it to my attention. It contains an important study and information about educating our children and helping them to live a happy healthy life.

In Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder, Richard Louv explores and discusses the divide that exists between today’s youth and the natural world that surrounds them. He notes that not only are parents teaching their children to be wary of the outdoors, but that their schools and governmental and neighborhood institutions are as well. The adverse effects of nature deprivation can be seen in increased incidences of childhood illness, such as depression, obesity, and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Louv calls for a reconnection between children and nature, believing that it will reverse some of these negative trends.

Sources of this children/nature divide, Louv notes, are increasing regulations and fear of litigation that ruin “unstructured outdoor nature play” and instill in our children the notion that such play is not allowed. When three brothers are forced to tear down the tree house that they spent eight months building because they had no building permit, it is not surprising that more children are spending their time indoors. According to some community associations, even having skateboard ramps at the foot of driveways violates contracts families made when purchasing their homes.

Legal fear is also affecting scouting organizations, to the point where these organizations feel that preserving a connection with nature may not be worth the potential costs. “Today, if a parent sends a kid to you without a scratch, they better come back that way.” At one point, returning home with a scratch seemed essential to a child’s camping experience, but now it merely serves as another reason to raise insurance premiums.

Full Description:

“I like to play indoors better ’cause that’s where all the electrical outlets are,” reports a fourth grader. But it’s not only computers, television, and video games that are keeping kids inside. It’s also their parents’ fears of traffic, strangers, Lyme disease, and West Nile virus; their schools’ emphasis on more and more homework; their structured schedules; and their lack of access to natural areas. Local governments, neighborhood associations, and even organizations devoted to the outdoors are placing legal and regulatory constraints on many wild spaces, sometimes making natural play a crime.

As children’s connections to nature diminish and the social, psychological, and spiritual implications become apparent, new research shows that nature can offer powerful therapy for such maladies as depression, obesity, and attention-deficit disorder. Environment-
based education dramatically improves standardized test scores and grade-point averages and develops skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making. Anecdotal evidence strongly suggests that childhood experiences in nature stimulate creativity.

In Last Child in the Woods, Louv talks with parents, children, teachers, scientists, religious leaders, child-development researchers, and environmentalists who recognize the threat and offer solutions. Louv shows us an alternative future, one in which parents help their kids experience the natural world more deeply—and find the joy of family connectedness in the process.

Raw Food Recipe: Date Bars, a sweet treat.

Dampen date pieces by placing them in a sieve and dipping them in a bowl of water, just in and out, or run water over them. Then blend into a paste by chopping them in an upright food grinder. You can do this with a Champion or Samson Juicer but there is a lot more cleanup.

The date pieces after grinding will be stuck to the side of the chopper bowl.
Take a fork and and remove enough date paste to form a date bar. Slip the date paste off the fork with a spatula into a bowl of finely shredded unsweetened coconut.

Roll the date paste around in the coconut with a fork until it is completely covered... then you can shape it into a bar with your fingers. Sometimes
Juanita adds ground almonds to the coconut.

I like date bars with either coating. Date bars are a good cure for a mean chocolate craving spell.

Country Living:

Got up a little late this morning, 5:30. I was just sitting here thinking of all the things in nature that I love to see: trees, flowers, bees collecting nectar, butterflies, birds, deer, clouds, sunrise and sunsets, the sky, the sun, stars, moon, streams-rivers-lakes, the ocean.

I like watching breakers washing up on the beach, wild turkeys in the driveway, a coyote sitting on it's haunches by the freeway watching the cars go by, a blue fox mother playing with her cub, coming around a corner on a dirt backroad and watching a Bobcat lope along in front of the car... so many pleasing-exciting awe inspiring things to see.

I read somewhere that many people that live in the cities are afraid when they visit the country. This really amazes me, but I must admit, that I have a similar feeling when I am in a city.

I like breathing the fresh air in the mountains instead of exhaust fumes in the city. And everything in nature is so alive... concrete, asphalt, glass, and steel are dead. And to me the noise, awful smells, flashing lights, and the multitudes of rushing people in a city are something else. Very confusing. Choose life.

Other Wisdom..... The Game of Life

The game is rigged,
By the power elite,
Open your eyes,
You must know this,
Everything you have
been told is a lie.
The world view of life
is an illusion.

Hard to believe,
Well it's true!
Wake up,
Look at the facts,
Whose to gain,
Whose to lose.
You've been had.
There is no hurry
in nature.

Get off their treadmill,
Slow way down,
There is a way,
To beat their game.
Work for yourself
to pay for what
little you need,
laugh at the rest.
Retreat to the woods.
Learn to live
a simple natural life
in peace.

Other Wisdom
: Whadya mean, "The game is rigged."

No one can own the earth or water on it, or any part of it... any more than they can own the air or sunshine or time or your thoughts. God gave each of us these things to use while we tread the earth... they are our birthright.

The game got setup a long time ago in a far away land. The story goes something like this. Once upon a time, a very powerful wandering tribal chief came upon a beautiful fertile valley, with a river running through it, where some people were having a little success growing food crops.

The tribal chief realized immediately that farming offered a much better way of life than wandering around searching out the sparse patches of grass to feed his animals. Because the chief had many warriors he just took possession of the land for himself. He now owned the land because of his might and probably rationalized taking it, "because it was the will of his God."

As time continued land ownership passed many times from father to son, and the tribal ways of sharing were forgotten. A primitive class system developed into land owners and workers. The "haves" (the rich) and "have nots" (the poor).

Wages and trade were first paid for by bartering goods and later the rich saw the advantage of money... coins which could not be spoiled by mold and rot. As time passed the rich were able to use their hoard of shekels to hire the finest minds to refine their game of ownership, trade, privilege and greed. The game became evermore in favor of the rich.

For thousands of years the rich have sold land to the poor, so that the lowly
would have a place to build a hut to live in.
Or just rented him the hut. Either way, the poor spent most of their life working to pay the rich.

In the distant past a smart or shrewd man could become moderately wealthy by becoming a trader. He could start with practically nothing and build. Other ways out of the bondage of serfdom was the military or priesthood.

Until just a few years ago the easiest means of climbing the ladder to wealth was through education. However, today, the loans to pay tuition are enormous and the student is "locked in" to repayment for years. The ladder is still there... just most of the rungs have been cut away.

Most of the poor are still serfs to the system... and they accept the game because they don't know any better. Public education's main goal is to condition and create good workers.

You can refuse to play the game presented by the "world view" of this society. "Drop out," never get locked in ... work to pay for what little you need, ignore the rest and find a retreat where you can live your life in peace.

The Power Elite... creating and controlling the world view.

Thomas Dye, a political scientist, and his students have been studying the upper echelons of leadership in America since 1972. These "top positions" encompassed the posts with the authority to run programs and activities of major political, economic, legal, educational, cultural, scientific, and civic institutions.

The occupants of these offices, Dye's investigators found, control half of the nation's industrial, communications, transportation, and banking assets, and two-thirds of all insurance assets. In addition, they direct about 40 percent of the resources of private foundations and 50 percent of university endowments.

Furthermore, less than 250 people hold the most influential posts in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the federal government, while approximately 200 men and women run the three major television networks and most of the national newspaper chains.

Instead of seeing hundreds of competing groups hammering out policy, the elite model perceives a pyramid of power. At the top, a tiny elite makes all of the most important decisions for everyone below.

A relatively small middle level consists of the types of individuals one normally thinks of when discussing American government: senators, representatives, governors, mayors, judges, lobbyists, and party leaders.

The masses occupy the bottom. They are the average men and women in the country who are powerless to hold the top level accountable.

The power elite theory, in short, claims that a single elite, not a multiplicity of competing groups, decides the life-and-death issues for the nation as a whole, leaving relatively minor matters for the middle level and almost nothing for the common person.

Even though these individuals constitute a close-knit group, they are not part of a conspiracy that secretly manipulates events in their own selfish interest.

For the most part, the elite respects civil liberties, follows established constitutional principles, and operates openly and peacefully. It is not a dictatorship; it does not rely on terror, a secret police, or midnight arrests to get its way.

The power elite establishes the basic policy agenda in such areas as national security and economics. Of course, since it only sets the general guidelines, the middle level has plenty to do implementing them, but the public has been virtually locked out. Its main activities — wearing campaign buttons, expressing opinions to pollsters, voting every two or four years — are mostly symbolic. The people do not directly affect the direction of fundamental policies. Author: H. T. Reynolds, Ph. D.

Crazy Wisdom: UFO Pickup

Juanita and I were riding along in the car today talking about being picked up by a UFO from a nearby mountain top (away from the trigger happy folks in the valley) if something happened to make the earth unlivable for humans.

Juanita was driving and all of a sudden she turned to me and said, "Are we crazy to be talking about this?" "Talking about what?" I replied. "You know, being picked up by a UFO... most people would think that we are crazy!"

"Well, that's expanded consciousness, Love... most people can't get their mind around being picked up by a UFO... so it's not going to happen for them. You know you have to allow things to happen. You have to believe that it can happen. Miracles happen every day... but most people just shrug their shoulders and mutter, 'coincidence."

I am the Christ... I am one with God. God is eternal... I am eternal.
God is the first consideration in every equation because: God is all there is.

The Collective Insanity of Humanity's Inherited Dysfunction, by Eckhart Tolle, from his book, A New Earth.

The achievements of humanity are impressive and undeniable. We have created sublime works of music, literature, painting, architecture, and sculpture. More recently, science and technology have brought about radical changes in the way we live and have enabled us to do and create things that would have been considered miraculous even two hundred years ago.

No doubt: The human mind is highly intelligent. Yet its very intelligence is tainted by madness. Science and technology have magnified the destructive impact that the dysfunction of the human mind has upon the planet, other life-forms, and upon humans themselves.

That is why the history of the twentieth century is where that dysfunction, that collective insanity, can be most clearly recognized. A further factor is that this dysfunction is actually intensifying and accelerating.

The First World War broke out in 1914. Destructive and cruel wars, motivated by fear, greed, and the desire for power, had been common occurrences throughout human history, as had slavery, torture, and widespread violence inflicted for religious and ideological reasons.

Humans suffered more at the hands of each other than through natural disasters. By the year 1914, however, the highly intelligent human mind had invented not only the internal combustion engine, but also bombs, machine guns, submarines, flame throwers, and poison gas. Intelligence in the service of madness!

In static trench warfare in France and Belgium, millions of men perished to gain a few miles of mud. When the war was over in 1918, the survivors looked in horror and incomprehension upon the devastation left behind: ten million human beings killed and many more maimed or disfigured.

Never before had human madness been so destructive in its effect, so clearly visible. Little did they know that this was only the beginning.

By the end of the century, the number of people who died a violent death at the hand of their fellow humans would rise to more than one hundred million.

They died not only through wars between nations, but also through mass exterminations and genocide, such as the murder of twenty million "class enemies, spies, and traitors" in the Soviet Union under Stalin or the unspeakable horrors of the Holocaust in Nazi Germany.

They also died in countless smaller internal conflicts, such as the Spanish civil war or during the Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia when a quarter of that country's population was murdered.

We only need to watch the daily news on television to realize that the madness has not abated, that it is continuing into the twenty-first century.

Another aspect of the collective dysfunction of the human mind is the unprecedented violence that humans are inflicting on other life-forms and the planet itself—the destruction of oxygen-producing forests and other plant and animal life; ill-treatment of animals in factory farms; and poisoning of rivers, oceans, and air.

Driven by greed, ignorant of their connectedness to the whole, humans persist in behavior that, if continued unchecked, can only result in their own destruction.

The collective manifestations of the insanity that lies at the heart of the human condition constitute the greater part of human history. It is to a large extent a history of madness.

If the history of humanity were the clinical case history of a single human being, the diagnosis would have to be: chronic paranoid delusions, a pathological propensity to commit murder and acts of extreme violence and cruelty against his perceived "enemies" — his own unconsciousness projected outward. Criminally insane, with a few brief lucid intervals.

The Pride Before the Fall: "Absolutely, We're Winning the War in Iraq"

US: 60% of Baghdad not controlled- Jun 17-07 1:09 AM
AP via Yahoo! News: Security forces in Baghdad have full control in only 40 percent of the city five months into the pacification campaign, a top American general said Saturday as U.S. troops began an offensive against two al-Qaida strongholds on the capital's southern outskirts.

I try and stay away from discussing politics and government policy... but the continual daily headlines of the war in Iraq really saddens me. The loss of life of American soldiers (just young boys and girls) and innocent Iraqi citizens... men, women and children (and the fanatic suicide bombers) ... is what???... I'm at a loss for words... painful, pitiful, shameful, insanity!!!

The United States went to war to protect the world from Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. There were no weapons of mass destruction.

Then to cover-up that blunder... the United States went to war to free the Iraqi people from a sadistic dictator and establish a democratic government. They accomplished the first mission.

But...
how can a working democratic government be established in a country that has a population composed of three tribal nations that have hated each other and warred on each other for centuries. I just don't know...?

So the war goes on day after day with no resolution in sight... and more die because of pride! That is truly insanity!!! I have no idea how our government will get out of that mess. God help us.

Iraqi Government in Deepest Crisis

Friday July 27, 2007 4:00 AM ET
by Sam Dagher

Baghdad - Iraq is in the throes of its worst political crisis since the fall of Saddam Hussein with the new democratic system, based on national consensus among its ethnic and sectarian groups, appearing dangerously close to collapsing, say several politicians and analysts.

Robert Springborg, director of the Middle East Institute at the University of London, says the heart of the problem was that no one is truly committed to a strong and unified government.

" The actors involved have their own agendas, the central government and its resources are a tool for their own aspirations ... none are committed to a government for all Iraqis," he says.

"This universe is a dream that all six billion of us are collaboratively dreaming up into materialization together. When we realize this, we can put our lucidity together in a way where we can co-creatively dream up a much more grace-filled universe into incarnation. This is nothing other than an evolutionary quantum leap in human consciousness, unimaginable until now."
From Paul Levy's website: http://www.awakeninthedream.com/

Levy concludes that whether we destroy ourselves as a species or wake up depends on enough of us recognizing what the insanity of our current world crisis is revealing to us. The choice, and responsibility, is truly ours.

"The gigantic catastrophes that threaten us today are not elemental happenings of a physical or biological order, but psychic events. To a quite terrifying degree we are threatened by wars and revolutions which are nothing other than psychic epidemics. At any moment several millions of human beings may be smitten with a new madness, and then we shall have another world war or devastating revolution. Instead of being at the mercy of wild beasts, earthquakes, landslides, and inundations, modern man is battered by the elemental forces of his own psyche. This is the World Power that vastly exceeds all other powers on earth." C. G. Jung

the rigged inflation of gas and oil prices.

"We are each creatively responsible for evoking, or "dreaming up," our world. Physics gives us a rigorous basis for understanding and gaining insight into the way that we are all co-participating in the evocation or "dreaming up" of our world moment to moment."

"An essential truth that has emerged out of quantum physics is that when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. This is an exact articulation of the dynamics of dreaming. '...the physics of the universal dream." [Quantum Physics: the science of matter and energy and their interactions.]

"In order to effectively deal with the present planetary crisis we must awaken to a new level of consciousness, which is available to us in this very moment. Just as we can learn to become lucid in our night dreams, it is imperative that we, as a species, learn to become lucid in our so-called waking state."[We need to "wake up" and become aware.] [Lucid dreaming: is simply dreaming while being aware you are dreaming.]

"The crises of our time requires a new form of collective lucid waking consciousness for their resolution. Our ordinary mundane so-called waking-state consciousness is in a very real sense asleep to the way that it is involved in shaping and evoking the patterns of 'outer' events."

"This key insight can change our lives profoundly. When fully understood, it can enable us to discover entirely new ranges of options and possibilities to which we were previously asleep or blind, having fallen under the spell of a limiting belief system." [The crazy 'world view' of our society.]

"This essential insight, when properly engaged, can be the tipping point within our consciousness that snaps us out of the spell that perpetuates our sense of helplessness and impotence."

"This insight can awaken us to the fact that we have a vast array of previously unrecognized creative option at our disposal that we can use right now to make positive change in the world, no matter who we are or what our situation may be."

"While we hold that our leaders may be accountable as a political, legal matter, it is imperative for purposes of human spiritual evolution to see that the roots of that same madness that we see them so clearly embodying... are in us."

"This is one of the most salient points... the outer madness we see acting itself out in the world is inescapably connected to and, in fact, a reflection of a process going on deep within ourselves, both individually and collectively. A specific example of this is how our environmental crisis is actually an outer reflection of a crisis in the inner mental and spiritual landscape of humanity."

"If our leaders are behaving in mad ways, it reflects a deeper spiritual and cultural madness pervading society. How could we as a collective accept and even actively support mad leaders if we weren't mad ourselves? In our madness, we believe our leaders to be sane, which means like us."

"Our mad leaders are thus an inseparable reflection and product of a mad populace. When we see how we are connected and are unconsciously helping to support and feed the madness pervading society, we gain power to change the overall madness by changing ourselves."

"Armed with these insights we are able to draw a more accurate map of the roots of the psychic malaise afflicting all of us which is the cause of untold amounts of human suffering."

"Uniting in our lucidity, together we can help each other to understand and stabilize the recognition that we are collaboratively dreaming up our universe into materialization in this very moment."

"This spreading realization in our species can create a shared context in human consciousness that will allow previously undreamed of approaches and solutions to emerge. This may well be the secret to the reconciliation and healing of our world crisis."

Country Living: Slow Sunday

Sunday... a slow day here at, "Humming Bird Hollow." We named our place here in the mountains this, after we noticed the humming birds arrived about the same time every year. Lots of them. More come every year... must be the little ones hatched out here returning along with their parents.

The humming birds arrive here on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th +/- three or four days. We always put out a couple of large feeders a week or so ahead of time so they can fill up when ever they get here.

The wood ducks come back every spring to nest in the trees around the edge of the large pond in back of the cabin. It's really great to see the little wood ducks jump from their nest into the pond for the first time. We have only seen this a few times in the 22 years that we have lived here. But its great to see when we happen to catch it.

There is a lot of brush around the far side of the pond and mallards nest there every year. When the mallard ducklings hatch out we see them swimming along in a line behind their mother.

Canadian geese fly over in V's spring and fall to a lake further up the valley.
Long legged herons visit the pond occasionally and some years nest and roost in the trees.

In the warm months bull frogs bellow out their mating song day and night. They sit on the lily pads to sun themselves and catch unwary bugs. They are big fellows (or females)... stretched out they would be about 12" from tip of toes to nose. We enjoy their songs.

There is a smaller pond at the end of the cabin. Its about 40' across and four feet deep in the winter. A big old stump lays on its side on an island near the center... a six foot tall cedar grows there.

We were given about forty goldfish of all sizes and introduced them into our pond at the end of the cabin a few years ago. The ducks and herons made quick work of them.

The cabin deck extends out over this small pond. An interesting water plant called spatterdock with large green leaves and a bright yellow blossom about six inches across grows just below the edge of the deck.

We love living here! Quiet, peaceful, natural, beautiful, no hustle, no bustle; a retreat from the world where we can live a spiritual life.
